Frontier Stuff

Open answer questions (attach additional pages. All questions must be answered.):What attracted you to this project?

I don't know, maybe just living like the frontier people did. That's probably what got me.

What hobbies and interests do you have?

My hobbies are art, yarning (making thing with yarn), crafting, and playing my flute!

What image do you have of pioneer living?

I imagine everyday being very hard but at the end of the day knowing it was worth it.

What's the most challenging thing you and your family (or group) have experienced?

I don't know, maybe when a drunk driver almost hit our car in Texas. Maybe when we were driving through Utah and a very sleeping truck diver fell asleep and accidentaly made his huge 18-wheeler truck turn on its side! EEEEK. Scary!!!!

If you were chosen what do you think you would most miss about modern life?

I would miss my friends, junk food, computers, TV, video games, FREE TIME, ipod, celle-phone, and make-up!

What qualities do you and your family have that make you suited to this experience?

We usually do this sort of thing when we travel, but only for like 10 min.

What skills do you have that may help you?

I know how to make butter, jams, milk a cow (thx to my grandma) and climbing trees.

What would you hope to get out of the experience?

I hope to expand my knowledge of life on the Frontier and to know from experience what it was like!

What do you think will be the most difficult challenge of pioneer life?

Probably the clothes, learning new and harder stuff, not having so much free time, and learing to live without modern day stuff!

What skills would you like to learn from the experience?

I would like to learn how to make food a different way, everything kinda.

We'd like you to tell us:What interests you about this project?

I don't know, just the whole fact of basically "going back in time" to the 1800's.

Do you have any concerns about your participation?

Nope
How much do you know about your family history -- do you have pioneer roots?

I don't know much actually. I only know all the way up to my great-great grandma, that's it.
